                   (Chant)

      Poor old Michael Finnigan,
      He grew whiskers on his chinnigan.
      The wind came out,
      And blew them in again,
      And that's the end of poor Michael Finnigan.

Note.--A pre-war folk-song which the soldiers resuscitated and gave a new life much more vigorous than that which it had in its early days.
