Mario--Starbucks 'out west' didn't taste any different to me, but I confess, I only had one, in order to say I had coffee from the original Starbucks in Seattle. (Yes, that's me) There does seem to be a local preference for heavily roasted out there...maybe they are jaded--coffee-wise.
