(Holdens cars have been made in Oz since the 1930's or so - the only Oz-developed cars.)

You are seriously undervaluing the talent of guys who have "the ability to push things through City Hall". Having worked in local government I can only have the utmost respect, admiration and awe for anyone who can get City Hall to do anything!
