Try Chez Son Pere for French-Canadian folksinging, 24 rue St. Stanislas, up half a block from St. Jean, a major shopping street. This club is easily missed, being up a narrow stairs to the second floor with minimal signage. It officially opens at 9 pm which if you show up at that time you'll have an interesting hour to kill trying out your French with the bartender until the entertainment begins. We had fun.
