The 'Cat is BACK!; Whoooo-Peeeee!!! {8^}D~
It seems that your humble correspondent has not been lurking the 'Cat nearly as much as I used to, but we sure do miss it (and some of the rowdys who inhabit it) when it's down!
That data base sure comes in handy, too, when we're looking for the lyrics to some off-the-wall old song that nobody in fashionable circles these days would likely want anything to do with.
I'd love t' meet ye, Max, given the opportunity. Press room gatherings have been kind of problematical what with competing domestic agendae, etc. (our only Daughter is getting married July 19), and our Fife-and-Drum Corps has rehearsal fri. night, but I can try to wheedle "Management" into considering it.
"Aunt Mah'thah" (AKA "RAFG", or "Responsible Adult Female Guardian" is highly allergic to smoke - particulary cigarette smoke, and if anyone is smoking in the building, she will in all likelyhood experience acute dyspnea, if not an asthma attack, and we'll be out of there inside of 15 minutes. Even on those occasions when I get the urge to fire up my Pappy's old briar with a load of black cavendish, it's OUTDOORS only - usually around the campfire after she's gone to bed.
If you come down I-95, you'll go right through Yarmouth. Somewhere between Exits #17 and 16 give yore ol' "Uncle" a wave, won't ye?
And Godspeed throughout your journey.
Since the Wedding is on the same day as the 3rd Maine Field Musics' big gig at Ft. Knox in Bucksport, I don't suppose it'll hurt much if I miss rehearsal.
Daughter Shearon considered having me fife her down the isle (a "deck", actually, as she is getting married on Moosehead Lake aboard the restored Steamer "Khatadin"), but then thought better of it.
Has someone posted directions from Maine / Rt. 95-South to the Press Room somewhere? I have recieved them several times in the past but forgot where I put 'em.
Should the Angels facilitate our transport to said Press Room, I'll be the fella wearing a cravat on my head. Not too many chaps do that any more - for the past Century or so anyway.
