This is Jim Herron's story, who as a fourteen-year-old Texas boy in 1880, joined a cattle drive north & settled in Oklahoma Panhandle. He grew up here & was elected sheriff, later he was charged with cattle theft, to avoid imprisonment, he escaped & hit the "Owl Hoot Trail". He ran from the law & kept running for fifty years.
