Are you sure the song isn't called "Along the Navaho Trail"? Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters did a version of it. It was done by others, too. It made the charts back in the '40's. I can come up with the verses, but you can do a search and find the song on line being sung by the above. Part of the lyrics are:

Every night along about evening
When the sunlight is beginning to fail
I like to saddle up my pinto poney
And ride along the Navaho trail
