Right at the moment I'm having a somewhat related problem. I heard Steve Tilston sing his song Slipjigs and Reels at Old Songs this weekend. And now I'm trying to remember which recording (not by Steve Tilston) that I already own has this song on it. I have a fairly large collection of recordings, and I know this recording is SOMEWHERE in my home...

I tried plugging the title into Google, but there have been enough recordings of the song that I haven't found the one I'm thinking of yet. (I'm assuming I'll recognize it when I come across it.) Perhaps people could mention any recording they're aware of ?

Otherwise, I'll just have to find time to search on likely albums, or hopefully just by accident it will be on the next album I feel like listening to. I've had this problem before (especially with tunes), which perhaps means I own too many recordings and can't keep them all straight. However, I don't expect this to stop me from continuing to add to the collection. (It doesn't happen with everything. Just some albums I'm more familiar with than others.) On the positive side, I've often rediscovered albums this way, and end up getting more familiar with them after the fact.
