I had a pal once who latched onto a gal once, when he was young, and they married. I would visit them every few years when I was back in the country. I was greatly surprised when she took th eposition that Bob Dylan his own self was communicating to her in every song and every record jacket, between the lines -- not just sayng stuff she liked, mind you -- actually communicating to her personally and concocting a plan whereby the two of them would finally meet up and run away together. The intellectual horsepower he would have had to invest into making those songs to a hidden code that would somehow reach her in her little dingly dell int he woods is awesome to consider!!

The sad thing is that my pal actually liked Bob Dylan, but he just wasn't prepared to accept the idea that he was weaving suuch a scheme into his lyrics. I suppose it kinda goes without saying that this marriage was doomed by that time, and disintegrated not long thereafter.

I never did find out whether she finally hooked up with him according to plan or not.
