In Newcastle, Oz we have a blues/R&B band which goes through changes of personnel and changes of name, but usually has two brothers in it. One plays bass guitar and the other plays lead and does vocals.
Many years ago the bass guitarist was walking along a street at night and fell into a hole which was not properly barricaded and signposted. He did serious injury to his neck and back and took years to fully recover. It's a scary thought that one minute every thing is rosy and then a split second later it has all changed dramatically, with long term consequences. It put a serious dent in the local blues scene here as well.
