oh i am sorry i did not hear about this til it was over..
I have not opened my mud cat room for a while now.
i used to do it every thursday.
I will try to do it next thurs.
from 8-10 pacific time.
will post an invite before that time.
Laurel
ps Dave, i am glad you have your own
room now, so you can go on any time!!
sorry i missed you, i always enjoy
meeting with you online.
oh, and Celtaddict:
Yes it is an on-line sing-around.
You go to www.paltalk.com and
download their software.
it does not take very long
and is not very large.
then when you choose a
nick name, you can go there
and there are lots of
"rooms" to choose from.
I always go to the groups section
and pick Music. There are often
100 or more people using this
service4 at any one time. If
you have a microphone and speakers
you can join in. If you only have
speakers you can listen, anyway.
(there are cameras too, but I do
not have one) people who are there
for free can see still photos, and
from what i understand people who
choose to get a paid membership are
able to receive moving pictures.
The music rooms which are the best
are ones which say "LIVE" in the
title, or acoustic. Some rooms have
"no singing" which i presume means
only pre-recorded tunes. I would
suggest to stay away from the Kareoki
rooms (unless that is waht you like)
some people in them cannot carry a tune in a bucket,
but they insist on trying to sing along with a
recording, when it would be better to just let
the recording play without messing it up with
an off-tune attempt to copy the song....
my room is called mud cat live acoustic jam,
and Frank hosts a folk jam, too.
GOOD STUFF!!!!!
