celtaddict, re "dead duck" songs, there's a very funny songwriter in Bellingham, WA (by way of Vancouver, BC) named Zeke Hoskin, who has a song with this chorus:
"O blow the horn loudly and rev up the truck!
We're off to the boondocks to murder the duck!"

One of the lines in one verse is:
"We don't know who shot him but the bugger's sure dead."
