If women wish to refer to their complete genitalia by the word "vagina", then they shouldn't make jokes like:
"What's the difference between a Clitoris and the nearest pub ?"
(Answer: Men never have a problem finding the nearest pub).

If you wish to be clinical, "vulva" is a much more accurate term, although I prefer to use the word "pussie" (furry and nice to stroke).

I've been a naturist for years and many times I've been asked questions like "Do the women show their vaginas ?" - and I have to point out that a woman would have to be in a very specific type of position to do that.

BTW - why is the simple Anglo-Saxon term "cunt" thought to be so disgusting ? - it is used quite casually (and unselfconciously) in much prose from the period.
