When I went to work yesterday, it was reported to me that on Saturday a man, an adult, had been discovered using one of the library's public computers to look at websites of naked children. This being a violation of the "Acceptable Use" policy of the library, he was asked to leave and did so without complaint.

The staff asked me to check out the websites and I did so. While the sites claimed that the material wasn't pornographic as defined in the United States Code, the URLs ("Lolita" was used in two of the four names) were fairly descriptive. I didn't see any sexual acts involving children, but then I didn't explore very deeply and viewed only some of the free pictures.

The pictures were of naked children, as evidenced by the physical development shown in the photographs. My guess as to their ages would be 12 and under; I do not remember seeing any photos of boys and girls together.

Because I'm interested in the discussion I won't tell you what *I* decided but:

Would *you* inform the police? Why or why not?
