Amor sent me digging into the Wordsworth Classical Dictionary, which is a reprint of the 1852 "Smaller Classical Dictionary," by William Smith.
There it is: "AMOR, the god of love, had no place in the religion of the Romans, who only translate the Greek name Eros into Amor."

Since it is only a translated name, it doesn't come up much.
