The song being looked for is the one described in the older thread to which Sorcha posted a link. It is a set of Irish Gaelic verses with a Scottish Gaelic refrain bolted on, so far as can be told, and what is probably a pastiche "Scottish" tune added. It has nothing at all to do with Air fal-al-al ó. The source book is obscure, I think, but perhaps someone can identify it.
