Rick, you got me wrong there friend! You're right about the innacuracies, but wrong about my motivation. I only expect what every worker expects, to be paid for their labour...ie..gigs and cd's. Lyrics are essential if people wish to sing the songs and you know my thoughts on that..a song not sung is a dead song (Hi lily, hi lily, hi lo!) If I had the time I'd put all my lyrics up on my website, but this damn computer can gobble up a lot of your life if you let it. Having just moved house a few days ago I've not got things up and running properly yet so I have not replied to Janey. (Hi Janey!)However, I should say that the notation of my songs has not been published for 30 years! Like many songwriters I can't read or write music and without a publishing house to do it for me I've never bothered to get the notes done, leaving people to learn the songs from the cds and the lyrics from the booklet. Sometimes people request chords and I try to reply promptly, but again it's all time. I keep promising words and chords on the website but it's TIME...and I should be recording the next album, writing the next song, driving to the next gig, painting the hallway, feeding the displaced cat, reading the book I just bought, enjoying the sunshine, meeting new neighbours,...in the words of the blessed Lord Buckley...."He can't do all that jazz!!" But I'll keep trying. No matter how time sits on me, I still give a thought for you each day. And for Heather. Give her our love.
