Great song, Whippoorwill! I've been familiar with that one since I was a kid, but never paid attention to the lyrics until you posted them. I'm trying to remember who recorded the song - I'm imagining Arthur Godfrey, Bing Crosby, and maybe Rosemary Clooney. It would be fitting for any of the three of 'em.
