Weeds (Michael Rofkar)


They call me Skip, I'm a handyman
I do odd jobs whenever I can
I'll fix the leak on your commode
My truck can haul off any load
I'll mow the lawn and mend the fence
Or I can paint your residence

One day last month I's hurtin' for scratch
Went to clear this old boy's blackberry patch
There was roots and stickers, thorns and brambles
And smack in the middle of that shambles
What do you think that I did see
A bunch of weeds as tall as me

I told myself (I's kinda jokin')
Looks like them weeds they use for smokin'
I rolled a spliff and fired it up
Went for a soak in the old hot tub
I can't describe what I was seeing
But I got this feeling of well-being

Ain't been feeling good, couldn't eat a bite
Them weeds brought back my appetite
And I don't like that skunk aroma
But it sure works good on my glaucoma
So I told my doctor and he said, Skip
I'm gonna write you up a scrip

You take this down to the weeds collective
Just watch for DEA detectives
