For those of you who don't know of them, have a look at their website at www.new-scorpion-band.com - it has sound clips - what Tim Laycock can't do with that concertina ain't worth knowing (anyone seen his 'Bells of St. Mary's'!!!) All the rest of the band are incredible musicians in their own fields too - they come together from the classical and early music worlds and somehow touch a spot, with regard to playing folk music, that is accomplished and entertaining yet, reflects the different 'sounds' of different periods, without being a 'period music' group per se. They are a bit special, in my 'umble opinion. It's true - they should be more widely known.
