Alan: Rugby Club would be my favourite spot for a camper. You park it at the far end against the hedge and the parking stewards tend to keep an eye on them - during the day at least. You can get showers and breakfast in the Rugby Club too - very cheap! It used to cost £15 per week for the van but not sure how much it is now.

If anyone is parking in the centre of Sidmouth for the festival I can really recommend the Rugby Club. You can get either a daily or weekly ticket. Tends to get full towards the afternoon and the lane down to it is VERY narrow but a good place nonetheless.
