I think the recent FCC rulings allowing for further consolidation and monopolization of mainstream media needs to be made the number one national security issue in the US.

Sooner or later, the US citizenry needs to be able to understand how the monopolization of the mainstream media in the US by a corporate cartel is responsible for the censoring of the news on a massive scale in our society--and on a scale which simply doesn't exist in other democracies.

Sooner or later, we are going to have to check the power of global corporations, or face a rapidly deteriorating quality of life here in the US. Which has already begun, of course, if you are a California resident, a college student or a parent of one, or one of the 50% of the US prison population currently incarcerated for non-violent or petty felony drug charges.
