Oh, gawd, LH, I heard a story on NPR a few weeks ago about a nasty rural breeder of chihuahuas in Calif. They'd let them go feral and there were over 350 chihuahuas in roving packs killing one another. It was awful. They'd finally caught them all, though by the time they did the numbers were down to about 280. Just born pups were adopted out as they were still able to be raised tame, but they weren't sure what to do with the rest of them; they were all wild and mean.
It was hard for the reporters not to kid around a little, though. One of the experts said it was partly because the word "chihuahua" itself conjures up the giggles, plus everyone loves the Taco Bell one, AND, as he pointed out, no one's ever encountered roving bands of killer chihuahuas before, not even on the Great Plains. Still, there was real concern in the comunity and on NPR. They were trying to figure a way to keep them all and rehab them or something.
Kendall, I'll see ya on that and raise ya an Ark of critters!:-)
