Although I have lived in Yorkshire for nearly 31 years now, I am not a Yorkshireman. It takes longer than that. In the same way, The Rose of Allandale is not an Irish song, though it has doubtless been sung there, in the form into which the Copper family moulded it (and which Nic Jones further modified) for nearly the same amount of time.
