Yes, and alligators! He is, like most small dachshunds, quite paranoid about the possibility of an unwarranted attack upon his little sausage-like body by some dastardly predator, but no dachshund expects an attack to come out of the water! For this they need human assistance or just plain good luck in order to remain uneaten when perambulating along the shoreline.

The older dog, Valdy, is always looking around nervously at the sky as though he expects to be siezed at any moment by an eagle. It would have to be a strong eagle, because he is very heavy. An eagle of intermediate size would be likely to suffer a hernia trying to make off with Valdy.
