Bill D., usually I don't ask for references, but I would be interested in knowing which geography book does not state Greenland is part of the North American continent. Does it just not mention it at all, or does it specifically place Greenland elsewhere? A simple Google search using the words Greenland North American continent show in the first line of the first several sources that it is considered to be in North America.
