Not wanting to pick nits, Bert (but needing to scratch the itch anyway), but the opening of your quote does say "In a White House news conference..." In the thread I title "The Resident emerges from his rat hole" the opening sentence reads "And holds the 8th press conference of his administration." I also discuss the very same subject you raised, which is Bush's claim that he was taking responsibility for the intelligence. I quoted too, and provided links to other stories about same.

I got the irony of your opening post. I just thought the thread could easily be consolidated with the other presidential press conference thread, for brevity sake. We now have three different threads going about the same resident's press conference, each one with a slightly different twist on the same statements or sorts of statements.

Now, if people think the threads don't need to be consolidated, that is fine by me. If they think my thread should be consolidated into yours or Frankham's, fine by me.

Like I said, I was just trying to be helpful in the housekeeping department. My suggestion wasn't intended to be commentary in the humor department, or territorial. But not wanting to dig myself in any deeper, I think I'll just let the whole thing go, and let somebody else worry about it.
