The San francisco Folk music Club has an extensive calendar of folk/trad sessions/concerts/other happenings, and can be reached at: www.sffmc.org.

If you like irish music, there's a tune and singing session every Sunday night at the Starry Plough Irish pub, across the bay east of San Francisco, in Berkeley. Starts a 8pm. Myself and P.J. and Dave Swan can be found there. PM me if you'd like directions and we can meet up there. I'm not familiar with the bluegrass and singer/songwriter scene, except that there is a very good venue in Bertkeley, the Freight and Salvage Coffeehouse. It seats several hundred, and is host to some of the finest folk musicians around. The Folk Club calendar lists who's performing, as well as www.freightandsalvage.org.
