Well, I did some more searching on the net, and it appears that there is a club: The Barleycord Music Club, on Monday nights, at the Upstairs Room @ The River Club, Liesbeek Highway, Observatory, Cape Town. And I contacted Bill Knight, one of the residents, who has arranged a 30 min spot for me on Monday 11th August, AND will lend me his guitar (now, that's friendly!).

I will report back. I wonder whether I should sing "Thieves of innocence" (about child soldiers in Africa)....
