Thread Name: Lyr Req: Muckin' o' Geordie's Byre (Andy Stewart)
Subject: Does anyone have this recording'
Some years ago, I heard a recording of "The Muckin' o' Geordie's Byre". I think it may have been Andy Stewart but my memory is not what it was. It is sung at a swift pace and in a thick Scottish burr but, in the middle of the song, the singer breaks into an exadurated Oxford English that went something like,

"Sachester Moody was there to see.
Five miles away, you could hear the melee.
Even the domesticated animals were consumed with glee,
At the cleansing of George's cow shed."

Then, he went back to the original burr,

"Sickin a sotter were all body in,
Five miles awa' ye could hear the din.
Nae winder the verra coo started to grin,
At the muckin'o' Geordie's byre"

I would love to hear that again.
