Bride Judy and I live in downtown Everett, Washington, U.S.A. We're about 30 miles North of Seattle. We spent the afternoon on the roofs of our house and sheds and wooodshop wetting everything down with hoses. Middle of the afternoon, I spotted a tall smoke column in woods about a quarter mile away. We live close to a large green belt that is very dry. This is being the dryest Summer in years. Within ten minutes, the smoke turned into a crown fire, going from tree top to tree top. We alerted the neighbors and everyone started soaking their roofs.

The fire was under controll in an hour and everything is O.K. Tonight is a time of good neighborhhod visiting and goodwill.

But, I'm wondering how many of you are living in serious fire danger?
