I have a puss that would run a mile usually vertically, to get away from a comb - she hated them. I then acquired two new cats who came with a rubber brush, affectionately known as the fetish brush. It's made of that slightly slimy feeling rubber, with 'bristles' each about 2 inches long and conical, the base of the cone being about 1/2 inch across. The slightly slimy rubber attracts the hairs, to such an extent, you wonder why the cat doesn't go bald and the bristles are not at all pointy or sharp but flexible and quite squidgy.

The new pussies loved this brush and greeted it with such delight when I got it out, that the old one decided to get in on the act.

The old pussy now rolls around in paroxysms of delight when you brush her with the fetish brush.

I can wholeheartedly recommend them.
