I remember some of the mock sales rap that was often done with this song. It's based on the sort of radio ads we used to hear from the Texas border stations (and it's not that far off) but I don't think it came from an actual commercial.

(Put on your best Texas drawl.)
“Yes friends, this program is brought to you by the Pink and Pleasant Plastic Icon Company of Del Rio, Texas. Friends, you can receive, by mail, a different member of the Holy Family each month and I know you'll want to collect the whole set.

Just imagine the envy of your friends and neighbors when they come into your home and there is the entire Holy Family on top of your television set easin' eye strain and bringing in better reception.”

And so forth. You kind of make it up as you go along.
