Oh dear, Allie, I can't resist any longer. I note the comment about being unable to get a work permit unless you can demonstrate that you can do a job that Kiwis can't. I take it there are heaps of work permits issued?

Now, I'm a Tasmanian (or was many years ago, before having a brain operation and moving to Queensland), and I reckon Kiwis are great people. All I have to do with the myriad jokes I hear is substitute "New Zealand" for "Tasmania", and it takes all the heat off my woolly girlfriends.

And many New Zealand folk songs are great - and some of their singers are even better (eg "When the Cat's Been Spayed" - a group that does all sorts of styles)
