In a related note, have you noticed how hard it is to find folk albums in the used CD bins? Back in Maine, where folk music is running pretty strong, there is rarely any album in the Bull Moose used CD bins.

That picture of the large stone LP is actually the hard currency of the island of Yap just south of where I am now. As I understand it the stone wheels are still valid currency.

Speaking of 78s I have one that is the album that goes with an early edition of Carl Sandburg's American Songbag. It features Carl himself playing the guitar and singing some of the songs in the book. I found it for $1.00 at a flea market.

Some of my best LP finds, including my Kendall Morse albums, came from yard sales and rummage sales. Also, back in Brunswick, Maine, the Friends Of The Library hold an annual book sale. One of the features of the sale are the boxes of LPs that take up one wall. I've found plenty of LPs there as well.

It would be the height of irony if my LPs, that were disposed of by their owners and sold for mere pennies, actually had serious value.

Oh, and I too have some old original Beatles albums...
