Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Chords to McGarrigle's NaCl From: Jim Dixon Date: 17 Sep 04 - 09:04 PM The lyrics to NACL (SODIUM CHLORIDE) are already in the DT under the title SODIUM CHLORIDE. It's also in an old thread: Click here It was written by Kate McGarrigle and sung by Kate & Anna McGarrigle on their album "The McGarrigle Hour," 1998. I also recall hearing Michael Cooney sing it in concert, but I don't know if he recorded it. |
Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: NaCl (Sodium Chloride) (McGarrigle From: Nick Date: 22 May 20 - 05:03 AM Love the McGarrigles and play various of their songs. Usually sing Kiss and Say Goodbye as a first song at gigs with our band. Heart Like a Wheel. Swimming Song. Blues in D (which I play in Bb). Foolish You. But my favourite could well be Sodium Chloride which I see I sat down and worked out how to play back in 2005 and it has never been played! The words are so clever and a lovely rolling feel to the song. But we have talked about it so there's another mission... G]Just a little [D7/A]atom of chlorine, valence [G/B]minus one[D7/C] [G]Swimming through the [D7/A]sea, diggin' the scene, just [G/B]havin' fun[Gaug/B] [C]She's not worried about the [G/D]shape or size of her [C/E]outer shell-- [C#dim]it's fun to ionize [G]Just a little atom of [D7/F#]cl with an unfilled [G]shell. [G7] And the middle bit - Then [F/G]unsuspecting chlorine felt a magnetic pull She looked down and her outside shell was full! [A7]Sodium cried "What a gas, be my bride, And [D]I'll change your [A7]name from chlo[D]rine to [A7]chlo[D7]ride!" |
