Taj Mahal does a great version (lots of syncopation) on his album "Recycling the Blues and Other Related Stuff" from Columbia Records, 1972. You can find a complete discography of Taj's work at the following website:

(...and for another COMPLETELY different take on Corrina, you could also check out the version by Steppenwolf on "Steppenwolf Live", a double album from 1970 (don't recall the label). This is Heavy metal meets the Mississippi Delta; not recommended for the blues purist. I recall my grandfather hearing that album and asking if it might happen to be titled "Train Wreck on the Mississippi"?)

For a really different, yet, appealing take on this old traditional, try Steve Gillette and Cindy Mangsen version on their "Live in Concert" at the Arc CD. The arrangement by Bruce Langhorne is very different and Steve and Cindy's vocals and string work is simply beautiful.

Garnet Rogers does a great midnight blues sorta version on Night Drive... pretty cool for a dyed in the wool Sensitive New Age Folkie Guy like him...

James Keelaghan claims that Corrina Corrina was partially responsible for inspiring his song "Red River Rising" which has the repeated line 'Corry's on the other side'...

M'self, I like Michael Cooney's version, which I think derives from Hudie Ledbetter's, and includes verses like:

I liked Ray Peterson's rendition the most. Ray had a unique 4½ octave range.

Yo, Cruiser. I remember that song vividly. Melody is great and so was the 45. The melody was very different compared to Dylan's version of the song (for example). Thanks for posting the lyrics. I recall the tune and likely the chords, but many of the words had slipped into the tunnel of time and were filtering away.

Q, Blind Lemon's 'Corinna Blues' is a different song, mostly made up of 'floaters' - 'See see rider', 'Blues ain't nothin'...' etc. You can find it on 'Best of Blind Lemon Jefferson' Yazoo CD 2057.

I should know better than to copy/paste lyrics from the Web without checking them out!

The song I am listening to is from the CD: Good Old Rock & Roll, Vol 1. 28 Great Hits, Original Artists   Hyland Music, 1987. This is one of my favorite albums with Jimmy Clanton, Carl Dobkins Jr, Jack Scott, The Impalas, Dobie Gray, Billy Joe Royal, et al.

There is a great version by the 70's band, Redhead. It has a great, understated break by Jethroe Burns. Sure wish Mike Dunbar would re-release it. He also did my favorite version of the Dutchman on that record. Google on Mike and ask him to re-lease it!
When I sing the song - I changed the words in the 80's to
"...... don't get no letters, not a fax to me....."
Any ideas on how to update it?

I think I learned this song from the 1960 recording by Ray Peterson. My copy of Who Wrote That Song? (Jacobs & Jacobs) attributed the song to J. Mayo Williams, 1932, with additional verses by Mitchell Parish. Then I got to the Traditional Ballad Index, and found it has a much more complicated history:
