TRAMP ON THE STREET (Grady and Hazel Cole) is in the DT (midi won't play). Arranged midi is HERE; and another one. Recording of "Tramp On The Street" (Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper) is at The Record Lady's All-Time Country Favorites (go to "Real Country Archives Page 12").

This is one of my favorites. I've got it by Molly O'Day. Wilma lee Cooper, and Roy Acuff. I have notes that it was copyrighted by Grady and Hazel Cole in 1940. "... this was patterned after a much earlier religious song called 'Only a Tramp!' by Dr. addison D. Crabtree in 1877." One set of verses are almost identical. I understand that there was a copyright dipute over this song, involving the fellow who also wrote "Wreck on the Highway>"

that is not a file name, and it gets me a 10 byte something named 'pnm.cgi'....it may be SUPPOSED to lead to a file, but it does not...I will try different browser.

ok...pnm.cgi indicates a streaming media file, and for whatever reason, it will not play in either Opera or Mozilla Firebird (damn proprietary systems!)...I finally opened Internet Explorer for perhaps the 3rd time in a year, and got it to play. Micro$oft is determined to get everyone to doing it their way or NO way!

Now...I shall set about capturing that streaming media and keeping a copy!...

I have managed to make one way work...needs more volume, but I think there are other ways. Still experimenting..

(Captured it as a 34,000,000 byte .wav file and converted it to a 3meg MP3 file)..

I don't know what tune you use for "On the Wings of a Dove", Ebbie, but the version I learned off an old Ferlin Husky record has exactly the same melody as Molly O'Day sings to "Tramp on the Street"--wasn't in the key of B, though--

There are only minor differences, but I have to say that the lyrics in the Digital Tradition make more sense to me.
