Subject: RE: MySpace From: GUEST,John Down South Date: 17 Jan 08 - 12:18 PM Bob, I will try your suggestion then. Delete existing photo. Go back to WINDOWS Imaging. Re-orientate photo. Up-load anew. I shall try right now. Many Thanks , John |
Subject: RE: MySpace From: GUEST,Bob Ryszkiewicz Date: 17 Jan 08 - 12:10 PM John down south: A bit of a guess on my part, but there should be a "rotate" function in the photo app. on your hard drive. Did you scan the photo? Maybe there. If you took the all digital route, go to the source and check the camera. The App in Mac is iPhoto. Test the Jpeg you create, to ensure it's upright, and upload to myspace. I don't think the problem is at myspace's end, but I'm not an expert... bob |
Subject: RE: MySpace From: GUEST,John Down South Date: 17 Jan 08 - 11:47 AM I put a picture of our band on myspace and it came out upside down and I cannot figure out how to correct it! |
Subject: RE: MySpace From: GUEST,Sarah, Barnsley Date: 17 Jan 08 - 07:48 AM you can find us (Barnsley Folk and Acoustic Night aka Barnsley Folk Club) herehttp://www.myspace.com/barnsleyfolkclub from whence you can find Padgett and myself I'd echo the comments above - myspace is a useful tool - you have to put work in to get results out- most strangers will accept a friendship request so you have to post bulletins, write blogs, leave comments etc to remind them that you are still there (without becoming a pest!) Sarah x |
Subject: RE: MySpace From: Surreysinger Date: 16 Jan 08 - 01:05 PM Yup - I'll agree to some of the above comments - you can't have two MySpace pages using the same email address - so I use my two freebies on hotmail and Yahoo for the purposes (two separate music accounts - one for me, and one set up for the new show ). I originally had a "vanilla" non-music space, and eventually got to transfer the email address across to the second music space (but only after the non-music one had been completely closed down) |
Subject: RE: MySpace From: Jim Lad Date: 15 Jan 08 - 10:06 PM I've stuck a couple of new songs on mine. If we're not already friends, be sure to invite me. |
Subject: RE: MySpace From: SouthernCelt Date: 15 Jan 08 - 07:31 PM If you want to keep both pages (I have two, one personal, one music) get a free e-mail address on Yahoo, Google or one of the other search engines that allows free sign-up, then use that as your primary e-mail for setting up the new page. That's the simplest thing to do. People who message you from the site will do so within MySpace and won't know your e-mail address unless you allow them to see it. SC |
Subject: RE: MySpace From: Fidjit Date: 15 Jan 08 - 06:26 PM Then you can ask them to scrap the first one, but that takes them ages to do chas |
Subject: RE: MySpace From: Banjiman Date: 15 Jan 08 - 05:01 PM RTim, I found that never mind trying to scrap it, you need to set up a new email address or MySpace will not accept it. Paul |

Subject: RE: MySpace From: RTim Date: 15 Jan 08 - 04:37 PM Hi All, I am trying to set up a site so I can list a few of my songs, etc. I have successfully set up the text info, but am having trouble adding my music. When I try and sign-up as a musician (having already set up a page without music) it asks me to input an e-mail adddres, then when I put mine in - it says its already used!! Do I have to scrap it all and start again - As a musician? Help! Tim Radford |
Subject: RE: MySpace From: Brendy Date: 15 Jan 08 - 04:26 PM Ok, I'll give it a try. Thanks Paul.. B. |
Subject: RE: MySpace From: Banjiman Date: 15 Jan 08 - 04:15 PM Brendy, Just register as a musician, that way you can upload MP3s from your performers.......that is what most of us have done. Drop me a PM if you get stuck at all. Cheers Paul |
Subject: RE: MySpace From: Brendy Date: 15 Jan 08 - 04:01 PM I've been looking around a few of the MySpace sites, above, and I notice that it is possible to make a site for Folk Clubs, and Festivals, etc. I have tried to sign up for a Folk Club/Festival site at MySpace, but only seem to get the option to sign up as a 'musician' or 'person' Since a Festival doesn't have a gender, etc, can anyone point me to how I can register as a Club? I've read through the online Help, but unless I'm totally missing something obvious, I can't find how one does this. B. |
Subject: RE: MySpace From: Surreysinger Date: 14 Jan 08 - 07:35 PM The Wigmore FC sounds a good idea - but I wonder why she says there are no folk clubs in Herefordshire - the last I heard there was one in Much Marcle ,and certainly one in Ledbury - don't know about the rest of the county though!! |

Subject: RE: MySpace From: GUEST,Bob Ryszkiewicz Date: 09 Jan 08 - 06:20 PM Thanks for the kind words reggie. It's just that I've checked out a lot of these musicians and it would be a shame not to even try. And yes, it does take a lot of organization, work and tenacity. But did anything that was ever great come easy? If it did, everybody would be doing it. This is why the great ones are on the world stage, and the others are in the audience... bob |
Subject: RE: MySpace From: GUEST,reggie miles Date: 09 Jan 08 - 03:40 PM I can't recall if I've already contributed my site's link to any of the threads on this subject. Here you go http://www.myspace.com/reggiemiles |
Subject: RE: MySpace From: GUEST,reggie miles Date: 09 Jan 08 - 03:35 PM Hey bob, that was a great pep talk a few posts ago. You're certainly correct about the potential. It's unlimited. It also requires a great deal of work and know how. To even just begin to explore this single site (MySpace) it can easily take an enormous amount of time and energy out of a person's daily schedule and that's not even considering the many other sites there are out there to explore or how many more that may arise while you're looking around. The web is getting thick with them and each has the same potential to be a great stepping stone to establish yourself and your particular pursuit(s). I admire your very proactive approach. It takes vision and persistence in every field of endeavor in order to succeed in reaching the personal goals we each set for ourselves. All the best to you |
