Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: Escamillo Date: 23 Apr 00 - 06:02 AM er.. Alison .. well.. is that koala poo similar to turtle´s ? Because there are so many Japanese tourists in Buenos Aires, and.. you know.. oh, just curiosity. Un abrazo - Andrés |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: Stewie Date: 23 Apr 00 - 04:17 AM Spaw, I reckon your bible covers from 'free range speckled emus' could be a goer. There's heaps of these nasty birds in the outback of Oz. It would only be a matter of your arranging for mustering, processing and transportation. With visionary marketing, my feeling is that you could be on to something very lucrative. --Stewie. |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: alison Date: 23 Apr 00 - 02:38 AM We have a great trade in selling koala poo to the Japanese tourists, (apparently it's lucky).. slainte alison |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: Kelida Date: 23 Apr 00 - 02:28 AM Spaw--Instead of chicken leather, which could be construed by some as cruelty to animals, maybe you should go with onion skin or very thin sheets of metal. . . maybe even--saran wrap. . . Peace--Keli |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: Margo Date: 23 Apr 00 - 02:25 AM 'Spaw, there is a guy in the south that decided to package his sheeps' poop and market it to nurserys. He put it in nice packages and called it Baa Baa Doo. Did quite well with it. Maybe you don't actually need to grow anything, just harvest? Margo :o) (nice name, Baa Baa Doo. Kind of just rolls off the tongue! |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: Night Owl Date: 23 Apr 00 - 02:24 AM I agree wholeheartedly Rick!! (lol Spaw.....go to bed.) |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: Jon Freeman Date: 23 Apr 00 - 02:22 AM spaw, why don't you just market whatever it is your on? ;-) Jon |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: catspaw49 Date: 23 Apr 00 - 02:14 AM that's balance cats...not sats. Balancing sats is also quite dangerous depending on who and what is doing the sitting. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: catspaw49 Date: 23 Apr 00 - 02:12 AM I recently tried to balance sats......well juggling actually. Things might have gone better and that's why I'm interested in the ass-grown asparagus market as I need the money for medical bills incurred after the disaster that occured when I added the fourth cat into the act. Barring that, I'm thinking that bible covers made from free range great speckled emus could work out or the organic condoms from chicken leather. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: Eluned Date: 23 Apr 00 - 02:04 AM KT you said it all for me!! I love coming by for a listen and a comment (or 20, or more ..... OK, so I like to see the print of my own words!) And there are more interesting threads than I have time to read. So there are some combative threads... to quote; "pass on by..". I dislike confrontations, but there is so much MORE going on here than those threads! I learn a lot here just reading and asking questions, and enjoy this place and the folks who come here whenever I can. There's room enough for all of us, too! |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: Jon Freeman Date: 23 Apr 00 - 01:13 AM Balance is the key word and I would be inclined to agree that it is pretty good at the moment. The only problem is that we will all have our own opinoins as to what the balance should be. Jon |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: KT Date: 23 Apr 00 - 12:58 AM Well, I am a relative newcomer to Mudcat....I've posted a few times and written one song for the song challenge, acquired a few technical skills and learned a lot!! Not only is this site an incredible source of information, it is the gathering place for many, many wonderful people!! I am thrilled to have found you all, and appreciate very much, the community that exists here. Now, someone tell me please, how does one find time to do all the things that used to get done BEFORE Mudcat? Best to you all, and whatever you may be celebrating these days... spring, holy days, holidays......celebrate fully!!! |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: Little Neophyte Date: 23 Apr 00 - 12:30 AM Harry Chapin would be proud! The Cat goes round in cycles Sunrise to Sundown Threads roll through the nighttime Till daybreak comes around The Cat is like a cycle Still I wonder why The balance is changing around again Let the flamers just roll on by Little Neo |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: katlaughing Date: 23 Apr 00 - 12:09 AM Right you are, Rick, should we knock on wood? I hear Spaw's head is available!**BG** Oh, and Spaw, talk to Rog about that poopy marketing thing. He and the Border Collie Known as Merlee are working out a franchise deal with the HouseCat Labor Union, whose rep I hear is some really large Irish bloke, to market the fresh stuff, marinated and packaged as "Poopsie-pops" for dogs. *groan* (It was inevitable, Rick, ya get the evil twin and good twin in the same thread and one of us has to go off and follow the other's example!;-> It's Spaw's turn to be the good one, but he's NOT paying attention!) Really, phoaks, it has been wonderful lately and, think about joining us in HearMe on Sunday night where you can put a voice to the name OR set up your own time in there and put out an invite. luvyakat

Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: Kelida Date: 22 Apr 00 - 11:31 PM I'm pretty sure there is such a thing as bad sex. . .but the Mudcat isn't it. . . Peace--Bridget |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: Kelida Date: 22 Apr 00 - 11:29 PM The music threads are wonderful. If I have a question, it usually gets answered; I learn a lot from the ones I know little or nothing about; and I enjoy being able to help people that have questions that I do know something about. The Enterprise thread has been great fun, even though all I've contributed is a couple of songs. The song challenges are always exciting--even though I don't contribute to all of them, there's a lot of great stuff from other people. The political "BS" has been great in that it's always nice to have a civil conversation about controversial topics with people who are willing to discuss rather than argue. I've found, though, that I have the best conversations with people that I don't really know--I'd like to get to know everyone here better, though. The flamers can be frustrating, but I sometimes wonder if they are truly trying to be malicious or if they just have a strange concept of fun? Maybe, too, they just have a problem with articulating what their REAL problems are. All in all, the Mudcat has been a very positive experience for me, and I hope to spend a lot of time here. I also hope that I will get to know more people and that I will learn as much as I can from the people who are way more knowlegeable than me and that I can teach what little I know. Peace--Bridget |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: catspaw49 Date: 22 Apr 00 - 11:20 PM Ah screw that Meebo.....Look, I'm looking for a bunch of folks who are willing to help out on my latest venture which Rick suggested in the "E-Bay vs. Local Music store" thread. See, I can make a killing in the "Organically Grown Amish Asparagus" market and all I need is some folks to lay around for 3 or so months on their stomachs whilst I harvest the greenery growing from their rumps. Come to think of it, as a BumGardner there might be a lot of money in the right kind of "Poopies." The drug guys would be after me, but I could put up a nude beach sign and have the poppy growing folks stay there....sorta' a camoflage by openess thing. Spaw-the mix is good Rick...nothing too wacky going on---You're right!! |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: MK Date: 22 Apr 00 - 11:20 PM The 'Cat is like sex. There's no such thing as, bad sex. Some, are just better than others. |
Subject: RE: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: Mbo Date: 22 Apr 00 - 11:04 PM I agree, Rick, the 'Cat is a fun place to be these days. It's also lots of fun to have your good self around so much of late--you're a treasure! --Mbo

Subject: Love the 'CAT' Balance Right Now. From: Rick Fielding Date: 22 Apr 00 - 11:00 PM I know we've weathered a couple of wacky periods here at Mudcat recently and I thought I might start something to let Max (and anyone else) know what a neat phase it seems to be in right now. My dad believed in cycles and so do I. Even though I've been busy lately, I haven't been able to tear myself away at times. 'Course the only other activity that's sufferin' is hockey playoffs and Blue Jays on the tube. I've had lots of fun this week reading and getting involved in about 20 strong musical threads and at least 8 or 9 political ones. These seem to be co-habiting nicely with the "Tavern Fantasy" ones, and even the flamers (I haven't seen ALL their posts) are being somewhat witty along with the insults. One thing that really helps are the new names that are starting to pop up on a regular basis now. There's some darn good writing in both the folk and other threads. Barring earthquakes or ASCAP we should be having fun for a while. Of course it'll get weird again from time to time, but as Lee Hays used to say "It will pass. I've had gallstones and I know". Any newcomers (or old farts) wanna throw their two cents in? Rick |
