I too like his work Clinton and I have never tired of Acadie, some of my favorite songs ever recorded are on that album and I would argue to death anyone who wouldn't consider his "O Marie" a folksong.

Ditto on Acadie. Also check out the Slingblade soundtrack which was done by Lanois.

In the last while I've picked up CD's by three of my musical heroes, Dylans 'Time Out Of Mind', Willie Nelson's 'Teatro' and Emmy Lou Harris's 'Wrecking Ball.' The thing that they all have in common is that they were produced by Daniel Lanois. I have to admit that I wasn't knocked out by any of them on the first couple of listens, thinking that they were overproduced. But I must admit that they have all really grown on me, especially the Dylan one. The production values are all quite different from the work that these artists have done in the past, and it took me some time to get used to this, but I now think Lanois has done a remarkable job of shaping the sound of these works.

Does anyone have any thoughts on his work. I think I read that he also did Gordon Lightfoots last CD, which I haven't heard. I also haven't heard his solo work, but I think it would be worth checking out.
