Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Raedwulf Date: 02 Apr 05 - 01:30 PM Probably, mate, & I'm sure you'll know better by the end of the w/e but A) the women aren't going to let you in on the secret; & B) unless you have a bottomless wallet, why would us blokes want to let you off, eh? ;-) |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Malc R Date: 02 Apr 05 - 11:18 AM As I am a virgin mudcatter and this is my first Yorkshire gathering, and I know I'm only a man but errr.... is there something I should know? Mal |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Liz the Squeak Date: 02 Apr 05 - 12:22 AM Do you really think that anything I do can keep Limpit off anyone? Why do you think she's called Limpit?! LTS |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Mrs.Duck Date: 01 Apr 05 - 03:20 PM Of course they don't need ration books but that won't stop me claiming!!!! |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Raedwulf Date: 01 Apr 05 - 12:48 PM Jane - Why would all five of your offspring, never mind Geoff, be interested in ration books, eh? (But I would agree that only women understand ration books, & therefore men should not be allowed anywhere near one. Please? Especially Davetnova!!) Liz - If you want to get between Cats & her ration book, I'm not bloody well rescuing you - I heard what happened to Actaeon, for a start! But anything that keeps Limpit off my back (literally) is to be encouraged (just don't push yer luck...). |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Mrs.Duck Date: 31 Mar 05 - 03:08 PM Went to Black Dog last night and beer and cider is being sorted. The pub is having a refurb so will look all posh before we arrive and having seen the artists impression will make the area near the conservatory a lot better for singing or musicians. I need to start counting bodies tents and caravans soon so if you could pm me it would make life easier although I will also go through the thread. This is the fifth Yorkshire gathering and looks like it could also be the best so don't miss it. |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: GUEST,Mrs.Duck Date: 29 Mar 05 - 10:23 AM Well in that case I suppose I will just have to collect on behalf of all FIVE of my offspring. I would colect Geoff's but he usually gets his own! |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: GUEST,Liz the Squeak Date: 29 Mar 05 - 09:33 AM Sausage? Moi?! I will actually be claiming on behalf of Limpit who, although old enough to be hugged, is not deemed responsible enough to collect her own ration book, and I shall also be claiming for the recently married Mrs CatsPhiddle, who will no longer require hers....... Manitas is staying in London. LTS |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: GUEST,Mrs.Duck Date: 29 Mar 05 - 09:24 AM And no Liz, I don't mean for rump steak or sausage! |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Raedwulf Date: 24 Mar 05 - 01:27 PM Liz - Vouchers may not help. Jane has got hold of the idea of ration books. I don't somehow think that's going to turn out to be for *my* benefit! |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Mrs.Duck Date: 23 Mar 05 - 01:33 PM I am. |

Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Micca Date: 22 Mar 05 - 01:27 PM Lynne, Biddenden is LOVELY Highly alcoholic (at least 8% BV and I suspect rather more sometimes) but with a lovelytart very appley taste like one would imagine liquidised Cox's apples would taste, sometimes known as "Milk of Amnesia" |

(Can't keep a good man down, you know...) BTW, Vicky, I don't think we've been introduced. Which bit did you want to book? Only Liz is after the chest, Khatt usually has her hands on me bum, Jane is... errrmmmm... behaving herself while Geoff's in sight, & judging by last year, there'll be a bit of a queue for hugs... ;-) |

Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Mrs.Duck Date: 17 Mar 05 - 03:38 PM Now Wulfie, wouldn't want you to end up flat on your back! |
Subject: RE: Yorkshire gathering 2005 From: Raedwulf Date: 16 Mar 05 - 02:57 PM bd - How about some mild? You can't get mild in a London pub! Other than that, rather than thinking about a barrel or two, is it possible for a publican to get a broader selection in smaller quantity at trade price (e.g. bottled stuff)? I'm an ale/beer man, & don't go much on 'bitter' so if you get a barrel of bitter, I probably won't try it past the first pint. But if you've got a range I'll try one of each (seshpeshully hif I *hic* ain't shtried 'em be*hic*fore...) before settling on my faves (assuming I'm not parallel by then! ;-) ). I suspect most beer lovers, most folkies (is there a distinction (shaddap Khatt!) between the two?) are much the same. The CAMRA beer tent at Festival At The Edge is pure heaven precisely because, if one beer don't suit, I can finish it (of course, finish it! It's still beer, man!!) & move on to a different one... |
