Subject: RE: Folklore: Have a Canny Cuth's Day From: The Vulgar Boatman Date: 19 Mar 07 - 04:15 PM Some Jack Strop will tell me I shouldn't even have a jackstaff on a narrowboat, and I agree - but it will be flying the Northumbrian flag tomorrow. I may even get the pipes out. Essential tune - Jimmy Allen. |

Subject: Folklore: Have a Canny Cuth's Day From: Alec Date: 19 Mar 07 - 05:58 AM It's March the 20th tomorrow & that's St Cuthbert's day. St Cuthbert's Day is the day on which Northumbrians celebrate their language and culture. For any of you out there who will be marking the occasion I hope you have a great day. Any suggestions for recipes or music appropriate to the occasion gratefully received. |
