First rock band though, for what it's worth.
There was a rock band in Sydney in the '80s called 'Wrong Kind of Stone Age'. I think the Till Family Band is perhaps the wrong kind of rock band.

Your article actually says "Probably the last professional group to use them was from late 19th-century America: the Till Family Rock Band"--so they weren't the first, they were the last--interesting bit though--
