Please can you help to get the word around about Southwell's 1st Folk Festival.
Well it's much more than a Folk Festival.

In addition to the fabulous line-up of top folk artists, the festival is linked to the historic 'Gate To Southwell' Dance Festival (see below), the Town Festival (including a French Market), and includes a Craft Fair and a Beer Festival.

The Dance Festival involves Morris teams dancing in relays and performing at various locations as they make their way from Nottingham to Southwell for their final spectacular rendezvous. Last year over 150 Morris dancers took part.

The Folk Festival also includes ceilidths, folk workshops, dance displays and many fun activities and attractions for the kids. In addition to the main concerts, there will also be a 'Club' tent where budding artists can perform.
There will be plenty to interest all members of the family.
The town should be buzzing - or should I say ringing, singing and much more!

Attached is a copy of the 'flyer' and also a copy of the editorial appearing in Nottinghamshire Living magazine – (the actual feature has some excellent pictures). Please feel free to email these on to your members, associate clubs and followers.
If you require hard copies please send an email to hotmikegreen@hotmail.com
or contact Mike Kirrage on 01636 812 852 or Mike Green on 01623 882 901.

To really whet you appetite, take a look at these websites:
http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/~pdzdw/dolphinweb/eastmidlands_files/Gate.htm
http://www.southwellfolkfestival.org.uk/

It would be very helpful if you could display or distribute the flyers on club nights and at forthcoming gigs and possibly make an announcement or two.

Thanks, Mike Green (On behalf of festival organisers)
