I agree, Rowland does an incredible job of pulling it all together and making it work, and on top of all the sterling work he does for The Black Swan Folk Club. Thanks Rowland

It was a brilliant day.
Great to see you all - Linda and Hazel, Carol, 2BS&AS, JP Slidewell, Paul Pearson...
Not to mention Black Swan regulars Stan, Dave, Susie and Jack, Eddie etc etc etc. And loads of fantastic young performers . But biggest congrats again to Roland for tirelessly organising it all, and the friendly and hardworking staff at the Black Swan itself. All gearing up nicely for the "big blowout" on 1st July!
cheers
MM

Ah, you could have come to the bun fight at the Pizza hut with me and the grand children, Ron declined and I think it was a wise move, second thoughts , you would have had to endure a half hour of us in the Marquee, mmm, maybe a wise choice! Going home that is!

The musicians room is going to have some sort of cordon to allow staff to get to the kitchen and maybe the tables removed to get more in

The musicians room even with the kitchen is till a much bigger room than the previous room the sessions were in which was incredibly cramped

Which room will the musician's session be in? They swapped it round last year and it was a bit of a pain with staff needing constant access to the kitchen.

From visityork.org/media/factsheets/haunted.asp:

Haunted Pubs

The Black Swan – Peaseholme Green

Renowned for its live entertainment, this beautifully timbered 15th century pub is one of the oldest in the city. Folk music is a speciality and they host regular beer festivals. One of the regular visitations is by a beautiful young woman in a long white dress, who stares distractedly into the fireplace. There is also a man, who by the cut of his clothes and his bowler hat, belongs to Victorian times. He appears to be waiting impatiently for someone…but gradually fades away. Tel: 01904 686911

Perhaps they're waiting for the music to start??

There's nothing about prices or contact details on the programme, stallion, nor whereabouts Peaseholme Green is (for we unfortunates who don't live close enough to York to know it better).

Just a guess, but I think maybe the York Day of Folk might be happening in York, formerly known as Eboracum and Yorvik.
