I've been there twice and can recommend it. On one trip, we went to a concert where a famous violinist played their Stradivarius and Guarnari violins.

The drive up I-29 to Vermillion from Kansas City is a beautiful one, as the freeway follows the Missouri River valley. One day we stopped at a rest stop and saw beautiful white pelicans at a nearby lake. They were migrating.

Isn't SDShad there at the university? I see he hasn't been around here, at least not posting, for quite awhile.

Looks like neat place.

My current union organizing duties have taken me to South Dakota. While driving north on I 29, I kept seeing signs for the National Music Museum in Vermillion, South Dakota. Turns out that it is on the campus of the University of South Dakota. I must tell you that it is a spectacular disply of musical instruments with many instruments from the 16th century forward. One of my favorite rooms was the Lillibridge Gallery which is the guitar room.

If you ever get the chance, I would strongly recommend you stop and visit. You won't be sorry.

Mick
