Shammick Acoustic Sessions meet on the 2nd Saturday of every month (next one 9th June) in the village of Combe Martin in N. Devon. The sessions are run singaround-fashion with any genre of music or song, as well as the spoken word in poetry, story or even jokes being equally acceptable, although most of what is performed is folk as that's what most of those attending are into. Those who come just to listen are equally welcome. A collection is taken which goes towards the expenses of visiting performers and to subsidising occasional skills workshops.

From this month, the sessions will take place at The Castle Inn, High Street, which is a pub renowned for its real ale and good food, in a function room completely separate from the main bar. Also starting this month is a series of concerts taking place on most 4th Saturdays, the next one being on 23rd June with Quicksilver, alias Hilary Spencer and Grant Baynham, supported by a few local performers. Tickets can be obtained at a discount if bought in advance.
