Yes but we do have the new Mawkin:Causley at Walthamstow Folk Club 21st October so not all bad.

Mind you that will probably clash with a Spurs Sunday match now that I've posted it.

Funny I was talking to my mate Russ on the way to the 75th Anniversary Bash and we mentioned that we hadn't seen anything about Mawkin at the Nags Head Walthamstow and lo and behold there it is in the post above, 14 July.

This will be (I think) the third year they have done a ceilidh in the back garden of the pub and the last two have been great fun.

The nuisance is that on 14 July I'll be up at the Rothbury festival, damn!

First saw them at Towersey last year and immediately bought the CD which is a firm favourite. They were great at Shepley last month - especially when David did his 'competition piece', an awesomely complex guitar piece by the late Eric Roche. Despite having a bad hangover, it was incredible. All you could hear from the audience was the sound of jaws hitting the floor. When we demanded an encore at the end of the set, there was a huge groan from them and a cry of 'Oh, please, no. We're in pain' - but, of course, they did it anyway.

I believe they're at Sidmouth this year with The Spookey Men's Chorale - now that has to be worth seeing, pity I can't make it.

These boys are going to be BIG!

Treewind, they're also touring in the autumn. They're coming to Loughborough for one of the dates in late October. Can't wait!

Was just talking about it to Colin Irwin tonight, funnily enough, at the EFDSS 75th bash, telling him he ought to get along to one of the gigs - so should everyone else!

What about Mawkin-Causley?

You-know-who and you-know-who . . .
I'm looking forward to hearing that combination.
(seen advertised for some festival, I forget where)

Now I remember having a 'bit of a run-in' with this young lad about Seth Lakeman, a long while back...We patched it up though...

Well, now...I'll say about David what I said about Seth...

WOW!!!

If you haven't seen Mawkin yet, which is David's band, then you're missing something a bit special! They went down a storm at Abbotsbury last year, when they supported Show of Hands..and when you watch David play you'll understand why....

David on Youtube:

Davd Delarre playing 'Roundabout'

And here is David's band..bet you won't be able to keep your feet still..

MAWKIN
