Subject: RE: Jumpleads - The Stag Must Die From: Tony Rees Date: 10 Nov 18 - 04:07 PM More info here: https://www.discogs.com/Jumpleads-The-Stag-Must-Die/release/4677675 Dave Townsend, the concertina player, and I shared a house in Leeds for a while in the late 1970s. I lost touch with him after that. I have some vague idea that Jumpleads formed a while later in Oxford?? I remember Folk Roots/Southern Rag championing them for a while as in the vanguard of a new folk movement ("rogue folk") which was not particularly to my taste (sorry Dave!). He was/?is a great concertina player though. Also did something later to do with the rural music of Thomas Hardy, I think... Regards - Tony |
